What happens to your athlete's film
The Academy coaches from video of young athletes. This page says exactly what we record, who can watch it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed.
The short version
- 01
What is recorded: short practice clips the athlete uploads, and any baseline film sent at enrollment.
- 02
Who can see it: the athlete, any parent or guardian linked to their account, and the coach assigned to review it. Nobody else, and it is never public.
- 03
How long it is kept: raw clips are deleted automatically 12 months after upload.
- 04
What is kept after that: the coach's written notes, the drill they assigned, and report cards. The video itself is gone.
- 05
You can ask for deletion at any time, before the 12 months are up, and we will act on it.
Consent comes first
No video is collected until someone with authority to agree has agreed. For an athlete under 18 that is a parent or guardian, who gives their name at enrollment — a box ticked by the athlete is not consent. Until it is recorded, the upload screen refuses to accept film, and so does the server behind it.
Who can watch it
Three people, and no others: the athlete, any parent or guardian linked to their account, and the coach assigned to review that clip. Video is never public, never shown on the marketing site, and never shared with a third party. We do not sell data and we do not use athlete video to train anything.
Deleted after 12 months
Raw clips are deleted automatically 12 months after upload, by a job that runs every day. This is not a request you have to make — it happens on its own. What survives is the coaching: the notes a coach wrote, the drill they assigned, and any report card. In the Submission Vault an expired clip says so, with the notes still underneath it.
Deletion on request, any time
You do not have to wait 12 months. A parent can ask from their profile page at any point and we will act on it. The request goes to a coach rather than wiping the film instantly — partly because it cannot be undone, and partly because a family asking for their child's video to be removed deserves a conversation rather than a silent background job. If you would rather not use the button, email your coach and it has the same effect.
What we do not do
We do not post athlete video publicly. We do not use it in advertising. We do not run automated analysis that produces measured claims about an athlete — the machine-estimate features are switched off, and a coach writes every review in their own words. No number reaches a family that was not measured or entered by a coach.
Questions
Ask your assigned coach — their name is on every review they return, and on the staff page below. If something here is unclear, that is worth telling us about: a policy a family cannot follow is not doing its job.
